Iconic Day Tour of Beijing, China

Our guide will pick you up at your hotel and you will start the tour with one of the places that the Chinese people hold in high esteem: the Tiananmen square. It is located at the heart of Beijing and it is a symbol of the new China because of its history that is related to the Chinese revolution. It is a royal square just outside of another iconic place, the Forbidden City, which is the next step on the tour. Formerly known as the Imperial Palace, the Forbidden City is considered as the world’s five major palaces as well as China’s largest ancient building, covering an area of over 720,000 m². It was listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage in 1987. You will have the chance to visit every corner of this landmark for almost 3 Hours before heading for a Chinese restaurant for lunch. After the lunch break, the next destination is the Temple of Heaven, which is located in the south-east of the Forbidden City and is four times larger than it. It covers an area of 273 hectares. It has been listed as World Cultural Heritage since 1998. After visiting this architectural gem, you will be dropped off to your hotel.

Forbidden City
20 minutes walk away from Tian'anmen Square, we will find the Forbidden City. It is a palace complex in Dongcheng District, Beijing with a history of around 600 years. Our guide will show you all the magnificent architecture of the largest imperial palace in China during the Ming and Qing dynasties and the treasures collected. He will also tell you more about the history of this palace and the successive royal families' life.

Temple of Heaven
After a lunch pause, we will travel 15 min to The Temple of Heaven. It is located in the south-east of the Forbidden City. It was first constructed in the late feudal society in the year 1420 and renovated many times after that. Our guide will tell you how important the building was to the Chinese emperors as the history of each of them was regarded as a very important political activity of sacrifice to heaven and earth.
