Route & Duration
Shinsaibashi Shopping Street
Shopping on Shinsaibashi-suji is a must if you're in Osaka. There are stores catering to shoppers of all ages along the 600-meter covered walkway. It is a place to get authentic Japanese food, fast food, jewelry, and trendy boutiques, in addition to the more traditional kimono tailors.
The bridge links the areas of Shinsaibashi-suji and Ebisubashi-suji in the heart of the city. Motorized vehicles are prohibited on the footbridge, giving pedestrians more space to stroll across the Dotonbori.
Formerly a district for theaters, the region is today known for its vibrant nightlife and enormous, brightly lit billboards. One famous attraction is the billboard for the candy brand Glico with an image of a runner crossing the finish line.
In Namba Shrine, it is believed that the big lion's mouth will consume any negative energy or spirits that may be there, bringing success in academics and business. Exam season and the beginning and ending of the fiscal year are peak times for pilgrimages to the shrine.
We will meet by Shinsaibashi Shopping Street.
