    Diocletian's Palace

    Historical side of the Split. Diocletian, the powerful Roman emperor, has built his palace. It is the most famous and important landmark with 1700 years of history within the UNESCO-listed historical complex. (Visit from outside)

    The Cathedral of Saint Domniu founded at the end of the 7th century AD, it is the oldest Catholic cathedral in the world. It has its original structure still renovation at a later date. Though the bell tower dates from the 12th century. (Visit from outside)

    The monumental statue of Grgur Ninski takes place in the center of the main Split square. He was a famous archbishop of Nin, an ancient capital of Croatia. He defied the Roman Catholic Church, which opposed his call to introduce religious services in the national language of the country.

    The building of the Prokurativa was found by Antonio Bajamonti in the mid-19th century. Its foundation was supported by Italian tradition, with all its charm. There are Venetian-style colonnades and reliefs above the windows evoking ancient and Renaissance influences.
