Łazienki Royal Park (summer residence of Polish kings).
The Royal Baths – Lazienki – a big, delightful park, a favorite place for walk for everyone from all walks of life. It seems very peaceful, but in reality was far from that Royal Baths can and will surprise everyone with its past. A lot of scandals happened here, some with not a very happy ending. Every step of the way we encounter indescribable history, sometimes scary, sometimes funny, but always interesting. Where did the name of Belweder come from? Who lived in the building of a reservoir of water in the 18th century? How did the Tsarina of Russia Catherine 2nd meet the future Polish king Stanislaw Poniatowski? How comes that they become lovers? Who punished Hermaphrodite and for what? Who were the Bachantki? Why are they linked to the Royal Baths? How many horse-drawn carriages needed the owner of Myslewicki Palace to return home after crazy parties? Where lived the seer woman – the author of prophetic predictions for the last King of Poland? What was her real profession?
We will find the answers to all these questions during our trip in the Royal Bath Lazienki.
